Yes, it's 20 bucks more here than at dinky other places. But personally, I feel it's worth it. Like one of the other reviewers, I drove from Westwood to get here. Bob is so unbelievably helpful and kind, and even though I had two people ahead of me, they got me in and out in 20 minutes! If you have to get a smog test, you can really trust this place to take care of your car, and to take care of you. They even display their Yelp sticker with pride in their front window. :)

I truly loathe going to get ANYTHING done on my car, but this was painless. I dropped my car off, quickly filled out some paperwork and then went next door to the Lazy Daisy cafe for lunch. By the time I came back (30 mins) my car was ready for me and the information on my smog check had been sent to the DMV. The employees are very friendly and extremely polite. The whole process was a breeze. I would google their website and print the $10 coupon. Highly recommended

Quick, easy and courteous. I got there at 3:30 pm on a Saturday. Fifteen minutes later, I was done. It cost about $50 total. Both the guys who work there were nice and helpful. I'd go back for sure.

I completely agree with Jonathan D. This is an honest, upfront shop. They will work a solution for you depending on your situation.

I know a smog check isnt the most exciting thing in the world, but I had the BEST experice with them. Bob was so nice and the test was done quickly without any fuss. He gave me a discount without even my asking for it, which was so nice! Overall super charming and great service and very well priced - the only smog place to go in West Los Angeles.

This is one of the few good shops on the west side. In fact it's the only one I would recommend. The owner is very honest and runs a clean, efficient shop that my girl friend didn't find intimidating (and thats rare.)I brought my old Saturn here and my new(er) Subaru.

Great experience. I drove 7miles to get my smog check. Very polite and since they have 2 mechanics, chances are, you won't wait too long. The test takes 15-20min. Like the first reviewer said, it's little pricey, so print out the coupon or at least mention it. On a side note, their bathroom was impeccably clean. It was even cleaner than that of some restaurants I've eaten at (Tony Roma's being one of them). That says a lot about the management...

I really liked this place. I usually hate taking my car in for service but this wasn't all that painful. They don't take appointments as it's first come first serve but that was no problem when I went on Friday at 2:30. At first they said it would take about 40 minutes for the smog test so I was about to walk back to work (20 minutes away). But then the guy said that he could arrange for me to get a ride. And then when he did he said that it looked like my car would take about 20 minutes now. Great! So I just waited a bit, got my car (it passed), paid with the $10 coupon I got from online and left. The waiting room was clean, the guy behind the counter was nice. He even told me what my next step was (even though I could kinda already figure it out but it was still nice of him). Will definitely come back and recommend them to my friends.

Santa Monica Motors is trustworthy and fairly priced. Kareem is very helpful and clear about all charges. They also offer rides (both ways) for those who find it inconvenient to take their car in for service.
