I just took my car to SMM for an intial visit, based on scores of recommendations from coworkers. They excelled in every way. Prompt, courteous, skilled, honest and fairly priced. I didn't think places like this exist any more!

Got my car smog checked on a Saturday morning around 10am. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I used a coupon and the check was reasonable priced. Also, they sent the results electronically to the DMV. It could not have been easier. The best part - I was in and out in 15mins tops! I barely had enough time to get a coffee from the cafe around the corner.

LEFT SIDEit's the smog test office. came at opening, mentioned i saw them online and saw their coupon, was done in 30mins.RIGHT SIDEthe garage. awesome, friendly staff. fair pricing and offers suggestions without being pushy. My radiator cracked and it was repaired in a day. I'm new to the state and was tipped off to go to AAA for auto insurance and DMV registration in one spot. VERY HELPFUL.

I've had my 2005 Acura TSX for a while now and never had a problem with it. Then one night the car would not start, the dashboard lights kept fading in and out and the navi wouldn't turn on. I called Santa Monica Motors relying on their Yelp reviews to provide me with decent service. I spoke with Josh who, at first didn't even tell me to bring the car in as most garages would so they could "look at it". He just said it was probably a dead battery and to have the tow truck guy jump start it. I did as he recommended but as I was driving into to work the dashboard controls kept dying and the navi would blink on and off as would the radio. So, I drove it over and left it in their care, taking their free shuttle to work. The prognosis at that time was a dead battery cell or a bad alternator. The difference between the two being about $300-$400. Turns out it was a dead battery cell, but there is no way I would have known that. They didn't try to sneak a alternator diagnosis in there and pocket the extra cash, they just charged me for a new battery and I was on my way. Josh and his team was more than helpful the whole way through my terrible car trouble. I would highly recommend Santa Monica Motors for any vehicle troubles!

I can't say enough good things about Santa Monica Motors. It is so hard to find a place that you can trust with your car and this is it.
