Had a problem with my mini cooper and it became apparent that the mechanic at Santa Monica Motors couldn't remedy the problem and it needed to go to the mini dealer downtown in L.A. It was a Friday and I could not drive the car due to it's problem. They set me up in a rental car for the weekend and beyond and took care of getting my car to the dealer in LA. I was so impressed with their service and them going to the lengths they went to get my car fixed... Josh was great and I really feel they went over and beyond the call of duty to make this otherwise pain in the neck situation a pleasant one... Plus they absorbed the cost of it all... Santa Monica Motors is great and as a woman who knows nothing about cars feel they are totally trustworthy and I am so glad I found a car place that doesnt make me anxious...

This is the car shop I would go out of the way to visit. And that speaks a lot in LA. The owner is very patient and honest about the repairs. Before I went there the fist time, I took my car to the dealer for maintenance. And one day I got a quote for thousands dollars of repair from the dealer. I came as a surprise to me because I only took the car in for an oil change! I decided to try SM Motors for a second opinion. They checked the car and come back with a quote of $400. It's not just the quote was lower. But they explained to me what conditions each of the parts in question were, what were the parts that's on the priority list to replace. And they explained to me where the parts come from. Some of them will be manufacture original parts, some would be generic parts (that just don't have the manufacture logo, just as good but cheaper). The owner is very nice. One time I can't get out of work early enough to pick up the car. He waited at his office after the shop is closed so that I can pick up my car. I would definitely recommend this shop to my family and friends.

These guys have been my go to guys for the past two years. They kept our '05 Odyssey and '06 Scion XB in great shape at reasonable prices. We just moved out of state and are hoping we find someone as trustworthy as them. Josh is a great guy and we always experienced a warm welcome from him. Excellent customer service is so hard to come by these days in L.A.

They service my car well, their prices are fair, they explain what I'm paying for, and they don't condescend. And boy, have they gotten me out of a jam.

Everyone at Santa Monica Motors is excellent and also friendly. They keep my old Honda Accord in very good condition. I highly recommend them. I have been going to them for many years.

Very professional and great service would go back

The term, honest mechanics seems to be an oxymoron. Akin to the terms Jumbo Shrimp and Temporary Tax Increase. But Santa Monica Motors breaks with history. My most recent experience begins with having to take my car to another shop because i had moved from Santa Monica. Unfortunately, that shop couldn't recalibrate the service indicator on the dashboard. They didn't have the calibration unit for BMWs. Meaning I was driving around with the constant reminder that my car was overdue for service and in trouble. I called Karim from Santa Monica Motors and he agreed to fix the problem.
