Thanks to procrastination and the Pacific Smog Check being closer to my home, but it was already closed at 4:00 (one star for them), I ended up at Santa Monica Motors. Bob greeted me as if I were his old friend or close relative. Mr. Park is just as friendly. The entire smog check took 14 minutes, and I will undoubtedly come back here more than once. It's old school with the latest technology and great people.

These guys are awesome! After buying a used truck that turned out to have had the odometer set back and a laundry list of problems, Ray and the team were able to conduct a very thorough inspection. Having a link sent to me with detailed descriptions of all the problems, (including photographs!) was amazingly helpful. He even gave me advice about things that didn’t even involve him that I’m having to do at a Chevy dealership and what things he found the inspection that I should hold off on until after Chevy does their work. I’m very happy with the repairs that he did do (about 12 different things) and definitely bringing it back to him for those leftover repairs once the Chevy dealership is done with it!

Love this place. Started going here in 2018 for a Smog check when I lived nearby. Have come back ever since for repairs and the team at Santa Monica Motors have been the most reliable and honorable mechanics I have ever worked with. I moved out to the Valley and still make the drive to work with them because of everything they have done for me. One of the coolest parts is that they send you a link to a webpage where they custom make a breakdown of all of your car's issues with photos and suggested repairs so you feel like you're making an informed decision. I cannot recommend these folks enough!
