On August 19, 2012, I went to Santa Monica Smog Check and Test Only. I talked to Bob Rich regarding a smog check for my car. He was very helpful. The smog check was excellent.

They are always very helpful and provide me with a list of options and take the time to explain everything. Everyone is professional, efficient and I always feel like I'm getting an honest answer.

Needed a smog check for my car registration. Went to this place because it was close and the guy seemed really nice when I called to get a price quote. Got there about 9am on a Saturday, dropped my car off and it was finished about 30 min later. There's a breakfast cafe a few buildings down, and it's really good (Lazy Daisy), and there's also a farmers market every Saturday morning across the street. When I came back, I received my certificate and the owner (Bob), explained everything to me and even gave me some advice on how to keep my 97 Saturn running well. Definitely an easy, pain-free experience and I would recommend this place to anyone!

I'm the biggest procrastinator. So when I realized that my registration was due in a week, I panicked. I scoured yelp for the closest smog check stations. I went to two nearby and they both rejected me! For some reason that day they were overbooked (those darn procrastinators!) Then I discovered Santa Monica Smog check and met my savior, Bob Rich! Bob was great. It was 530pm and he managed to squeeze me in. He was extremely friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor. He even explained what they did in words and pictures I could understand. So thankful for the excellent service I received here. I also got a discount for checking in on yelp!

Back in April Santa Monica Motors fixed my transmission and I was very pleased with their service. The other week my car overheated due to some faulty repair work at another facility. I took it back here and they couldn't have been more helpful, professional and friendly. If I ever have any more car problems I'll be back. But let's hope it doesn't come to that :)

1) Great staff. 2) Great prices. 3) They have 2 bays. I had to wait about 45 minutes; not too bad. 4) 5 stars for making a pain in the ass chore easier.
