On August 19, 2012, I went to Santa Monica Smog Check and Test Only. I talked to Bob Rich regarding a smog check for my car. He was very helpful. The smog check was excellent.

They are always very helpful and provide me with a list of options and take the time to explain everything. Everyone is professional, efficient and I always feel like I'm getting an honest answer.

Needed a smog check for my car registration. Went to this place because it was close and the guy seemed really nice when I called to get a price quote. Got there about 9am on a Saturday, dropped my car off and it was finished about 30 min later. There's a breakfast cafe a few buildings down, and it's really good (Lazy Daisy), and there's also a farmers market every Saturday morning across the street. When I came back, I received my certificate and the owner (Bob), explained everything to me and even gave me some advice on how to keep my 97 Saturn running well. Definitely an easy, pain-free experience and I would recommend this place to anyone!

I'm the biggest procrastinator. So when I realized that my registration was due in a week, I panicked. I scoured yelp for the closest smog check stations. I went to two nearby and they both rejected me! For some reason that day they were overbooked (those darn procrastinators!) Then I discovered Santa Monica Smog check and met my savior, Bob Rich! Bob was great. It was 530pm and he managed to squeeze me in. He was extremely friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor. He even explained what they did in words and pictures I could understand. So thankful for the excellent service I received here. I also got a discount for checking in on yelp!

Back in April Santa Monica Motors fixed my transmission and I was very pleased with their service. The other week my car overheated due to some faulty repair work at another facility. I took it back here and they couldn't have been more helpful, professional and friendly. If I ever have any more car problems I'll be back. But let's hope it doesn't come to that :)

Thanks to the excellent service and repairs at Santa Monica Motors, my 21 year-old Honda runs better than most new cars. Not only excellent mechanic staff, but staff will tell you why repair is needed and how best to optimize use of car once repairs are completed (and, if you want, show you damaged or worn parts). Never over-doing, never under-doing, work is just right, cost efficient, and timely to keep from any break-downs. Thank you Santa Monica Motors for all your good work...see you next appointment ...
