Although I don't love that my car needed work, santa monica motors made it easy for me to leave it there and get it when I needed by driving me home and picking me up. They kept in touch about problems, explained what they needed to do and why, kept me informed about costs along the way and generally made me feel like my car was in knowledgeable hands. I was treated with respect also. I have come here for awhile and learn little bits about my car since I ask questions and they don't mind answering. I trust them. I have especially found Josh to be excellent and reliable and good at communicating.

I needed to get an emissions test prior to registering my car in California (moving here from Colorado). This place was open on Sunday and I had the testing and paperwork done within 20 minutes. The price was competitive (I used a $10 off coupon from Yelp) and the staff was friendly. There's a small additional charge for the Low Pressure Fuel Evaporative Test (LPFET) for any vehicles manufactured before 1996. If you're worried about your vehicle passing, it can help to drive it around prior to getting it tested (the re-test fee is $35). If you need a smog test, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out.

I took my boss's car in for a smog check the other day. They said 20 min. It was closer to 15 min. They were very friendly and quick. Highly recommend.

Been here a few times for smog checks. Didn't pass and the gentleman was able to give us some recommendations for a fix. It passed the 2nd time! Very friendly and fast.

This place is a gem. The personnel are very friendly and the service is very quick and efficient. Even if I didn't have to go to a test only facility I would go here in the future.
