The owner, Don, is excellent and really goes the extra mile.Ray runs the office and scheduling. He's very friendly, efficient and trustworthy too! Don was extremely knowledgable and helpful in diagnosing a Honda problem, whereas other mechanics had no clue. Also there was no pushing to have any unnecessary work done, as is usually the case elsewhere. Thanks for your help, Don.

I took my car in to Santa Monica Motors as it did not pass the smog test due to an OBD II issue. I made an an appointment and left my car at the garage in the morning - I was attended to by Ray who was helpful and courteous. I heard back from them later in the afternoon with their diagnosis and revised estimate. The needed part did not come in after a couple of days but they did offer me a courtesy car while my car was with them. After the part was installed, they had it re-slogged and the car passed inspection. I've had no other issues since taking my vehicle to their garage. I intend to return to them as a repeat customer should I encounter any mechanical or computer problems with the car.

Good star smog check station. Came here in Apr '14 to do a routine smog check on my 08 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. I was a bit nervous because I had a few exhaust modifications, some of which I was unsure if it might jeopardize my chances of passing. I was pleasantly surprised that I passed. I did not have the chance to find out how they handle cars that don't pass. Thankfully it went well. I stopped by on a Monday afternoon with a few customers ahead of me. It took around half an hour give or take, for the whole smogging to be done with. They honored the $10 off Yelp smartphone check-in coupon. There were no extra charges. I brought that to their attention after the smog and before I paid, and they just requested that I write a review. Service was more cordial than warm, although thats no issue at all in my experience. If I had to nitpick, they said the would call me as soon as my car finished smog, but that did not happen. Its not a big deal, since they were punctual with the time they quoted me. The location is good. I like how its less than 5 mins drive from the Santa Monica DMV and the Cloverfield exit off the 10 freeway. The location can be a hassle during rush hours, but otherwise I find it convenient. Good service. This smog station delivers what it promises and I can't ask for much more.
