I read the reviews and didn't think it could be possible that a smog check station could be that great. After all, its only a smog check and how great could it be? Then I walked in and met Bob. At first, I thought, yep, just as I thought, just another smog check. Then Bob started up with his witty, dry jokes. It was great and he was incredibly friendly. I left with him giving me his card and asking me to call him anytime with questions about my car. I felt confident about my choice and trusted the work they had done. Definitely will be back!

I could write a essay for santa monica motors. but in one word HONESTY... I went to sears for brake check they told me I need new brakes but I took 2nd opinion.. o boy was I right... they told me my brakes are fine...i would highly recomend them if u want good honest service....

Fast great service

I had a problem with my brake lights and found Santa Monica motors.i called late and talked to Don he said he would wait for me passed closing time. Which is unheard of in this day in age. When I got there I met Don very professional and friendly. After he checked what the problem was he only charged me the price of the part and did not give me the run around of other fixes that other places I went to first, did! Don Rocks!! And Santa Monica motors has my buisness for life. Thanks

This is my first time to Santa Monica Motors, and it was a pleasure going to them. They made an appointment with me, while I was able to wait for my car. It is the best service I have ever had. I can only comment on the Smog Check service, which was top-notch! Very fast, reasonable price (see the coupon on their website) and very friendly no-nonsense staff. Would come back for other services!

My turn signal bulbs were out on my 2005 Chevy Cobalt. I made an appointment with Santa Monica Motors to get them fixed, and they had me in and out in under half an hour with the problem fixed. Excellent service and very friendly staff!! This is my go to place to get car repairs. Would recommend to anyone.

You MUST come to Santa Monica Motors for your smog check. Bob was fantastic, I was there at 8am and on my way before 8:30am. Another smog check place had told me the day before that something on my car was broken, failed my car, and tried to charge me $100 extra to fix it. Bob said they were lying to me, and sent me on my way with a "pass" -- but not before letting me know where I could get a great cup of coffee next door while I waited. 100% integrity, 100% service -- the best.

I finally met Bob, who you all were talking about. Such a nice, funny, professional man. I couldn't have asked for kinder or quicker service. Something about Bob and this group that makes you feel at home. Went for a SMOG Check, it took less than 20 mins (I went around 8:15 in the morning). At the end, he explained very thoroughly how to keep up the maintenance of the car. Seriously, could not have asked for a better experience, especially after spending so much time at the DMV. Quick tip for Smog checks, bring your DMV papers with you for an even faster visit. Makes life easier. I will see you again Bob!
