Santa Monica Motors is the best!! I had an oil change at a local shop, and they wanted to charge me all kinds of money for a leak in my transmission. I hadn't noticed any leaks or problems with my car's performance, so I contacted Don at Santa Monica Motors for a second opinion. I am so glad I did!! Not only did he get me in first thing the next day, he found there wasn't a leak in my transmission but just water from my air conditioner. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes, and didn't have to pay for a repair I didn't need! If you are looking for a mechanic who is knowledgeable, honest, and fair, this is the place for you!!

Got annoyed waiting at another place for my smog check and went here instead based on Yelp reviews. The office waiting room is nice--looks kind of like a cafe or doctors office. Free coffee and water while you wait. Quick and efficient, and the staff was super nice.

I have been going to Santa Monica Motors for years and even though it's a bit of a trek from my home in Culver City it's always well worth the travel time! Finding a mechanic that you can trust wholeheartedly and who also treats you personably and respectfully is priceless. I just had my timing belt replaced on my 98 Honda Civic and the guys completed it a day and a half under their original estimated time frame. I'm happy to see that they've expanded their business and have taken over some additional space. The word is definitely out about this shop and I just hope that all their new clientele still leaves room for us old timers in their schedule! I found these guys after looking for a way out of the dealership dead-end and haven't looked back for a moment since finding them!

These guys are great. My regular mechanic recommended this place when he was unable to repair my dashboard. Everything was done in a timely manner and at a lower price than I'd expected. Had to wait a few days for the necessary part, so they graciously hooked me up with a loaner car. So happy to have my car back in running order. Thanks for all your help, Don and Ray.
