Being new to the area, I didn't know where to take my car when it started giving me trouble. Based on positive reviews and its proximity to my office, I chose Santa Monica Motors. And, I am super happy that I did. While my car was in the shop for longer than I had anticipated, Don and the team were really thorough not only with the diagnosis, but also with finding me the most affordable parts for the work that needed to be done. And, I was offered a loaner car, though I didn't need one. What I appreciated the most, however, was how informative and honest Don was with me about the repairs. There are about five things that need to be done, and he helped me prioritize, so I didn't have to drop a financial bomb. Some people might say "that's the oldest sales trick in the book", but the reality is that my car was running terribly, making noises, and stalling out. There's no question that work needed to be done, and I felt empowered to choose what to address now (transmission) and what to push off until later (old, squeaky brakes). It wasn't crazy cheap, but Don was able to come in under the original quote (never happens) and I felt that it was a fair price. The best part is that when I drove away in my freshly washed fixed car, I felt an immediate difference in the way it was running.
