Best smog place ever! Funny to say but this will probably be one of your best customer service experiences, period. Bob is awesome, technicians friendly. In and out in about 15 min. On top of it all they just expanded and have a comfortable new waiting room. If you live anywhere close to this place you're crazy to go anywhere else.

I'm not huge on YELP reviews, but my service was so great here, I felt it was necessary! I'm a 27 year old girl with absolutely no knowledge about cars. Every time I took my car to VW i wound up getting overcharged for things that probably didn't even need to be fixed. So, I was having some issues with my breaks and steering wheel, and VW wanted to charge me an absurd amount of money to just look at the car to see what's wrong. I came across SM motors and luckily got hooked up with DON. He got right down to the root of the problem, fixed my breaks for a very good price, figured out what was wrong with my steering wheel, and dealt with the people at VW so they would stop jerking my chain. He's pretty much the nicest guy around and really knows what he's talking about. and he generously hooked me up with a rental which was awesome! He is extremely reliable, trust worthy and knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back to SM motors for all my car needs! 10+ stars for don and this awesome company :)

I hope that five stars means good service because I was very pleased. From the moment I drove in to the moment I cashed out and left, I was impressed with the professionalism and good humor of the staff.

I called Santa Monica Motors in the morning as they opened. My car broke down the night before and I needed to have it towed for repairs. They told me to bring it in right away. They finished the assessment by around 10:30 and I drove my car away at 3:00! Excellent and fair service for a first time customer. Definitely recommend!

Surprisingly nice and super professional. Well appointed waiting room -- coffee, water, tea, tv, comfie chairs, a/c, and succulents. For a smog shop to put this much TLC into its waiting room, I felt compelled to review (as the outside of shop is super non-descript)

About as pain free as it gets. Dropped by on my lunchbreak and was told it'd be about a half hour or so. Went for a walk down the block to Rite Aid to shop a bit, and after 20 minutes or so returned to the nice waiting area, got a free coffee from one of those Kurig dispensers, and three minutes later the car was ready in the time they said it would be. Paid up, got the keys, and was heading back to work. Easy Peasy.
