This is my first yelp review EVER...Normally I don't take the time to say good or bad things after the fact, but I've never had a person go so far out of their way to help me out that I just had to. Situation-Had a fuel filler hose cut and needed to be replaced ASAP. Fuel started pouring onto the cement when I started gassing up. I called Santa Monica motors first but they didnt have an appointment available. I wound up taking my truck elsewhere and got a bill for $330..this is almost 2X what such work should cost. I called and spoke to Don at SMM to confirm my assumptions. He not only informed me about my rights as a consumer in such an instance, but also gave me ideas on how I would be able to fight the charges with the help of the California Bureau of Automotive repairs. He asked for pictures of the part and did research on his own to come up with an estimate for the work, which he promptly emailed me. Armed with this info, I was able to speak to the manager of the other shop, prove my case, and they are now thankfully in the process of refunding me. Bottom line: Don went extremely out of his way to help me out, and I wasn't even a paying customer. You don't find many people like that these days. Class act.
