Got me in for an appointment super quick and service was fast! Nice waiting room and nicer staff.

I rarely write reviews but these guys went above and beyond in customer service. I had to get my daughters 2001 beetle smog checked before she moved to FL. The car failed the initial test and they told me to try driving it for 70 miles or so for the sensors to get ready. When I brought it back they tested it and it still would not monitor so they had to do a more complicated process which they told me would cost $150 which I approved. They tried a bunch of things but still could not get it to pass. They called and told me it would be about $900 to repair the issue that was causing the emissions test to fail. I found out from the DMV that if the car was going to reside in FL it did not need a smog check since it would be out of state. I told this to Don and he told me not to bother fixing the issue as it was not damaging to the car and was nice enough to credit me back the $150 for the secondary tests, even though the work was done. Finding a mechanic who is honest and tells you not to do repairs that are unnecessary is invaluable, finding one that refunds you for work done out of consideration for your circumstances it priceless. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough, great communication, great customer service, courteous and extremely professional. I would not go anywhere else in the future with my cars

Great, Quick Service. My positive experience with Santa Monica Motors started when I called to inquire about smog check services. Chase, the receptionist, was cheery and helpful. When I arrived for the smog check Bob immediately greeted me and agreed my car would be ready for pick up in an hour. When I returned in exactly one hour, my car was ready, the smog service had been completed and the results had already been relayed to the DMV. It is a pleasure to discover a business operation that is efficient , reasonably priced and friendly.

All things considered, there are plenty of other ways I would rather spend 30 min of my day, but these guys were good and the experience was fine. No complaints. I was done when they said I would and they were friendly and pleasant in the process. Close and convenient to the SM DMV on Colorado.
