I had just left the Santa Monica DMV frazzled because the greeter spoke to me as if I were an idiot (its no wonder they are rated 2.3 on most social media ratings). I just moved to CA from FL and had no clue what I needed to bring with me or what a SMOG CHECK was! I was trying to obtain a CA DL and Vehicle registration. I was told I needed a Smog test - I had no clue what that was so I googled it and found Santa Monica Auto Service, whose reviews were 4.7! I was greeted with a smile and the those who were eager to help. I was able to get my smog test, VIN verification, and brand new tag (from the car rental service office) within 30 minutes. It was amazing and I was so glad that I didn't have to go back to deal with that woman at the Santa Monica DMV. Santa Monica Auto Service is a well hidden secret.

This was my first experience with Santa Monica Motors. My wife purchased a groupon for a smog check. I wanted to make an appt. so I called and had to leave a message before the close of business. I got a returned call about 10 minutes later and they told me that I could just bring in the car the following morning and I would just have to wait about 30 minutes. I got there at opening and they took my car and invited me to wait in their waiting room. I started to read my newspaper and before I finished my first article, they called my name and my job was complete. They were very professional and easy to work with. I won't hesitate to bring my car back for the next service needed.

SM Motors knows how to take care of both client and car. They are always reliable and take special care to give their best. I had my car's regular service and Star Smog Test. They noticed something, checked their records, and fixed it for me under their own Warantee guarantee. That's true honesty and integrity, which is their way of business. SM Motors is the best!!!

This review is for a smog check. We received excellent service from Bob, who was super friendly! We dropped our car off for a smog check, went to the Lazy Daisy Cafe a few doors down for a late lunch, and when we got back our car was ready.

I have been here for a smog check a couple of times and I won't go anywhere else. They are super friendly, professional and always quick. You can usually find a discount coupon online. Don't look any further for a smog check location.
