Santa Monica Auto Service

Just got back from my car service with these guys and, although I have about 20 things I need to do in the next hour, made leaving this review a priority. They are just that good. I dealt with both Don and Ray during the middle of the day when they had several services already occupying their attention, yet they stopped what they were doing to listen to my issues and addressed them promptly (they were minor). This is my 4th time visiting this shop, and guaranteed it will not be my last. This the type of shop you continue to return to even when you move farther away. Thank you to everyone at Santa Monica Motors. You all are fantastic and your superb customer service is recognized and appreciated.

Don and Ray are some of the best people I have had the pleasure of working with on my car. My Acura RSX and my girlfriend's Honda Accord are old and need some tender love and care. Not only has Don always accepted my car at the drop of the hat, he has purposefully steered me away from sometimes costly repairs that were able to be done by me personally. I think everyone can agree that the most important characteristic of a mechanic, other than skill, is trustworthiness. I completely trust them to do the right job. As long as I am in Santa Monica, I will always be going to SM Motors. Cannot recommend them enough!

I am so happy to have Santa Monica Motors in my neighborhood! Getting your car smog checked is not something anyone looks forward to but Santa Monica Motors make it so smooth, quick and painless! I went in this Saturday morning and I was done within 20 minutes! The facilities are really pleasant and so is their staff. I highly recommend Santa Monica Motors to anyone who needs a smog check or any other car service!

These guys have been amazing with my car for almost a decade now. Even though I moved out of Santa Monica three years ago, I still go to them whenever my car needs service. They're friendly, they explain what's going on, and their prices are great. If you're in the greater Los Angeles area and need a mechanic, check them out!

Let me preface this review by stating that it takes something very extreme to put "pen to paper". Santa Monica Motors did, what I thought, could not be done. I dealt with both Ray and Don, both extremely friendly, fair and helpful. Not only did they quickly ascertain why my "check engine" light was on, (something that my old mechanic could not figure out after three days but not even the Hyundai dealer could figure out), they got it to pass the smog test. All of this for an incredibly reasonable price and far, far less than the previous mechanic and dealer charged me with no results or even answers. Santa Monica Motors will now be my official mechanic for every automobile I will ever have. They turned a complete nightmare into a routine service and did it stress free. Five stars. Brought in my son's 2012 Genesis--air conditioning not working and frozen display screen. Don was very responsive in keeping me informed about diagnosis, cost and completion time. AC fix was 40% less than dealer. I can't imagine what dealer would have charged for the screen but Don and team worked with mfg. on programming fix as opposed to replacement of unit. Very pleased, highly recommend Santa Monica Motors and will begin taking my Lexus there for maintenance and repair.

Great friendly fast service. First time not going to dealership for regular service on my 2013 VW Tiguan S- - all good. Definitely will be back. Thanks SM Motors!
