I just had my 2nd bi-annual smog check at Santa Monica Motors and it was as professional and efficient as the last one.

I am a repeat customer to Santa Monica Motors. This facility has the nicest employees. So helpful, care about your car and most of all they care about you as their customer. Their waiting area is clean, you can make your own cup of coffee, and have bottled water available. Highly recommended!!!!

Great place. Very nice people, efficient, with a clean and comfortable waiting room. I priced them out in advance and they were the best price too. Highly recommend going there for your smog check.

Excellent service! Highly recommend. I stumbled upon this place for a smog check - they took me in right away, I was in and out in 15 minutes. The only problem with the speed was that I was having such a delightful conversation with Bob and would have gladly waited longer to chat with him more :) ! It’s a bit pricey at $69.95 but there was a $10 off coupon they told me about so it wasn't as bad and I prefer to support small local businesses. Definitely check them out and make sure to say hi to Bob!

very impressed with their work & honesty. they pointed out pressing & long term areas of the car i should keep an eye out for without trying to upsell me - a webpage of your car with photos documentation. very helpful. i asked if they could look at the repair that the dealer (Toyota of SM) had to legally make because of their mistake & SMM mechanic inspected my oil pan & documented the repair with plenty of photos of the underside of my car. my grandfather was a mechanic & i grew up fixing cars. they pointed out it was time to change my air filter, but left it up to me to change it myself ($21 Toyota OEM part) if i preferred. the dealer on the other hand tried to upsell me at $450 which is why i now bring my 3 cars here.
